The Old Us Poem by Ray Hansell

The Old Us

Here I am
On a cold December night
Lying here all alone
Oh how I wish
You were here for me to hold
To help chase away the cold
To warm me to my core
Like you use to do
Back, when it was you and me
Those happy days we use to share
Way back when, when we use to care
The only thing left from those happy days
Are the memories I have kept
To keep me company at night
But memories can't hold me
Or keep me warm at night
