The One Poem by Colin Breck Boardman

The One

The one,
(If indeed she is)
Doesn't know;
If she does,
It doesn't show.

The one,
(As perhaps she is)
Barely concurs,
As only in my eyes
And not in hers.

The one,
(As I think she is)
Is not a concept
She is willing
To currently accept.

The one,
(As I hope she is)
Though my hopes be twain,
May indeed make two
If all be not in vain.

The one,
(That indeed she is)
May still my heart abuse,
Being ever always
My poetic muse.
