The Only Girl In The World Poem by Patrick O'Reilly

The Only Girl In The World

Rating: 5.0

Eve tells you she loves you
And don't worry about the past
But when you're tangled up in the moment
You wonder if it lasts.
And then the body breaks
Like the waves on the rocks
And you feel her body quake
Like the San Andreas fault

And she trembles, trembles in your arms

And her hair smells so sweet,
Like a certain secret something,
Like the rarest hidden flower
On the highest purple mountain
Now she lies beside you sleeping
And she smiles when she starts stirring
Dreaming of the time
When she told you not to worry

And she trembles, trembles in your arms

And Eve was an angel,
'Cause she was God's only daughter
And you steal her away from Eden
And take her from her Father
But He has to forgive you,
Because she is an angel,
And what man would not do
The same thing if he was able?

And that is hold her, trembling in your arms
