The Other Guy Poem by KUNAL SETH

The Other Guy

A casual walk from nowhere
Into someone’s life can set the world right
Or it can demean every emotion
Set notions or add to commotion
Trapped feelings those were non-existent
Coming out and creating conflicting worlds
Judgments, opinions and the dubious social fabric
Challenges are galore
It has just started for the other guy and there is always more

Caught between right or wrong
Questioning himself and thinking in grief
What if? - Permanently prefixed before every streak of belief
An alien in a known life
Making impressions with natural expressions
Unsure about his stay
If it’s just for December or will last till May
Is he wanted or someone’s reason to stray
The other guy is not a coward but an unintentional brave.

He is here to transform a being or will amend his own state
Too much in his mind and nothing at stake
Is he a seasonal flu or a disease of a life-time?
Time will decide his fate, his ecstasy or crime
He is chasing that illusion called happiness- that eternal bliss
Lovelorn or Love smitten it’s a riddle between reality and reality ridden
Great perils awaits at every corner
A smile at every step makes him stronger
All this for his lady love, In quest of a happy ending
Is this his plight or a life’s worth spending?

-Not confused just exploring the unseen shores...
