The Other Side Of Rough (3) Poem by Elna Nel

The Other Side Of Rough (3)

Rating: 5.0

when your trial became
a calving cliff
in the cold season
of human reason
could you figure
what was compromised
now that the sadness
hugs your face

can you tell me
what went wrong
in the wetland of your soul
when the wrist of doubt
and fear called out
now that tears
lighten your lips
and some are still running

running through many reasons
and some things were born
in carelessness
so they say, but wait…
for eagles fly surprisingly low
in the gentle breeze
of the breath of forgiveness
