The Peoples Princess Poem by Paul Warren

The Peoples Princess

She was the people's princess for our time
And we loved her for herself so divine
But her prince was not at all charming
Who lived his life for himself and for us was so alarming

Now she would have been 60 years old
And we are subject again to her story being told
Where everyone picks a side again
Her story being rehashed to its end

It is time to let her Rest In Peace
With her boys left alone at least
For the memory of it all for me
Is a coffin with an envelope entitled "Mummy."
