The Phoenix Poem by Fritzie Abella

The Phoenix

Lost in a dark, winding alley
Deaf of wailing dreams deferred
Blinded by love unworthy
Fooled by evanescent glory-
Oh yes, life's bloated with futile wars!

By her choices she was defined
Beware! She's no empty can
From the ashes she ascended
She's a warrior-
the dainty phoenix.
