The Phoenix Platform Tune Poem by Luo Zhihai

The Phoenix Platform Tune

★ The Phoenix platform Tune

☆ Poetry by Wang Wujing (652-706, Tang Dynasty, China)
☆ Translation by Luo Zhihai (1954-, China)

How winding the Phoenix platform
And the Ying girl piped long and short
Once the iridescent clouds came
No date of return, she went away
Only left this tune on the platform
A lot of common people learnt to play
But they played and shed their tears
Pity her jade posture to this day

◆ Chinese Text

★ 凤台曲

☆ 王无竞 诗

凤台何逶迤
嬴女管参差
一旦彩云至
身去无还期
遗曲此台上
世人多学吹
一吹一落泪
至今怜玉姿
