The Pink Rose Poem by Olumide Sowemimo

The Pink Rose

As the morning dew departs
The Petals of the Garden react;
Winking at the rising Sun
Singing tunes of Praises to the
Highest Being, high beyond the Skies.

Yet in the Thicket, there She lies
Never obscured, yet blooming and blossoming
One of the smallest though;
Yet among the oldest of her kind;
Aged, yet never wrinkled

Your smile is your elegance;
Never flamboyant, yet highly sought
Highly decorated and loved
Yet you remained humble and mild
Your flow is eloquent

Thousands upon thousands of invites
Lay at your footstool, yet never arrogant nor proud;
Smiling with sweet savour
To the grandest of all celebrations;
Majestically positioned, even in the greatest kingdom of all Nations

Pure and simple, yet most prevalent amongst your kind;
You symbolize Love and Gratitude;
A connotation of Grace and Elegance;
Your sweetness is poetic,
Filling my heart

Your fragrance is my joy
Your gentleness is my life
Your blossom is my strength
Your life is my breath
The breath of your sweet savour
Oh! ! Pink Rose……..
