The Poet Prince Poem by Alexander Thomas

The Poet Prince

Rating: 5.0

I walk upon these sacred sands of time,
Through towering dunes of wonder I climb,
Gathering the perfect moments that gleam,
To create the heaven of which I dream.

By fierce winds of passion ravished,
And glorious golden days lavished,
A veritable feast for all of the senses,
To the awe of nature hold no pretences.

Did you swallow the fading sky?
And imbibe it deep into your eye?
Did you bathe in the moonlight?
Did you howl like a wolf in delight?
Did you swim naked in the sea?
Did you dance in the fire like me?
Did you let it all in?
What breathes under your skin?

We can all live like kings,
Open your arms to whatever the weather brings,
Get drenched in the rain,
And come closer to life through its pain.

We need none but the fresh air,
With only rags to wear,
The beauty of all will overwhelm,
As we cut our cloth for the next realm!

I sailed against the storm into the blazing dawn,
I stood tall in the waterfall,
I clambered up the majestic mountain,
To gather the purest water for the fountain,
I hold this cherished land in my benevolent hand,
Such great wealth the source of flourishing health,
I give it all to you with tenderness,
Let's get lost together in the wilderness!

Did you swallow the fading sky? Deep into the sentient waters of your eye? Did you bathe in the moonlight? Did you howl like a wolf in delight? Did you swim naked in the sea? Did you dance in the fire like me? Did you let it all in? What breathes under your skin? Loved and appreciated this stanza. Thanks for the sharing. 10 for it. Subhas
