The Predator Poem by Cece Dev

The Predator

One day as I wondered,
among a forest green
came a rabbit
from beneath the root of a tree.
And in a shrill voice, it spoke to me.
And he said, 'have you seen a fox? He hungers for a meal. And in his eyes, the meal consists of me.'
'No, ' I replied 'but I'll keep a sharp eye.'
And so I kept walking.
Until I came across a fox, who emerged from a bush.
He turned to me and said, 'have you seen a bear? He hungers for a meal. That meal consists of me.'
'No, ' I replied 'but I'll keep a sharp eye.'
And I kept walking
Until I came across a bear, who jumped down from a tree.
And paralyzed in fear, I heard it speak to me.
And he said, 'have you seen the man? The one with the fire stick? '
'No, ' I replied 'but I'll keep a sharp eye.'
And then, in a flash,
I heard an ear splitting sound
and saw the bear dead on the ground.
And I saw a man, emerging from a blind,
he raised his cap to me
and I quickly ran away.
