The Progression Poem by Raymond Farrell

The Progression

It was in the silence
that pushed down
like a heavy weight
on my chest
and my innards
felt as if
they were on fire
churning with some molten
toxic mixture of contradictory thoughts
which raced back and forth
across my mind
vanishing then reappearing
reshaped
gradually this private agonizing
solidified and took form
a dream emerged
then a blueprint
was born
from this private crucible
next actions were taken
and finally positive results
the only worthy compensation
and God's greatest gift
to those who suffer.
