The Prophet Of Love Poem by Matloob Bokhari

The Prophet Of Love

THE PROPHET OF LOVE

The wife of Imran was a barren and sterile woman
Hannah prayed to God to bless her with a child.
She vowed to give her child to the service of Allah
Allah blessed her a pious girl, named Maryam
She was entrusted to the custodians of Zakariyya
Who looked after her spiritual advancement
The pious lady in the sanctuary saw mercy of Allah
The All Knowing gives whom He wants without reckoning
The Power which creates from non-existence into being,
Besides heavenly food; blessed Maryam a son
She became pregnant for great blessing and a gift
And took refuge from her pain under a dry date palm
God gave her a pure and perfect son.
The All powerful set under her feet a stream, refreshing to soul
Sent her fresh dates from a withered date palm
Miracles and unseen help made Maryam courageous
When people saw the child, chided her,
'O sister of Aaron! Your father was not a man of evil
Nor your mother a woman unchaste!
Thought of disgrace filled Maryam with anxiety
Without speaking, the virgin daughter
Of the pious house of Aaron pointed to her child
"Ask from him what has happened."
Born miraculously, the prophet by birth spoke in cradle
'I am an appointed apostle, with a Sign from Lord
I have come for the salvation of the mankind.
I heal lepers, bring dead back to life,
Give light to born blind, sound to the deaf
Breathe life in a figure of a bird
I tell what you eat, store in your houses'
The services of this divine messenger started since his childhood
Worshiped the Infinite Beauty of Lord
Served Him with humility, love, tolerance and faithfulness
All his life, he healed the sick, fed the hungry,
Shared meals with outcasts
Broke bonds of the oppressed and crushed
Shattered the chains put round the slaves' necks.
Liberated people yoked in abject misery by the black powers
Resisted oppression, corruption and usury all his life
All the divine prophets came to help the helpless
To speak up for the voiceless.
To execute justice, , share bread and forbid interest
Men of love changed the spiritual aura of this earth
This earth! Where Kingdom of Darkness is being ruled by Power of Satan
Where sons of thunder have thrown world in messy conflicts
Where the poor are oppressed so hard they can not stand
Where widows are broken in grief
Where hungry children are moaning lonely in the night
Where the naked and the needy are groaning in day light
Ya Master of Nazareth
Ya Master of Sammara
Come, for the ultimate salvation of mankind
Come to release the world from the darkness of the night of ignorance
O our Awaited Saviours
Come to free the world from injustice, tyranny and falsehood
O the Pole Stars of our hope, Come! Come in this kingdom of Darkness
Hear the cries of our tears
Hear the sighs of our sorrows
IMF has put a yoke of iron on our neck
And World Bank has made
millions slaves with debt bondage
O the dream of all dreamers, Come!
Establish a world order based on justice
Care, help, forgiveness and love
So no child should die of malnutrition,
No old man should bear the brunt of below freezing temperature.
No fanatic should pluck the eyes of the lovers of freedom.
May our hearts shine with the light of love
Without love, worship is merely jerks of body.
