The Reason Im An Ok Writer Poem by Aaron Gotham

The Reason Im An Ok Writer

I write too much about death
It getting out of hand
One second my mind is on a thought about fun
Then it changes to murder and a morbid use of guns.

But I don't write like that because I am a killer,
I don't write like that because my favorite movies are thrillers
No, I write like that because death is intriguing.
The way lifeless eyes fade when externally bleeding.

It's all about the way my mind likes to think,
Dismembered heads sitting in the bathroom sink,
Or maybe a homeless man stabbing a 73 year old shrink,
Horror and gore is where my creativity peaks.

I was born into Psycho and the one about the crucifix,
A women with a bloody dress,
Wiping her mouth with a handkerchief
Or a teenage girl getting covered with pigs blood
Movies and autopsies are the reason I write good.

Without all the killing, I'd be a boring writer,
I would probably write something about chutes and ladders,
But maybe with a twist where the chutes lead to the furnace
And the ladders are made with wire razors to cut straight to disaster.

I'd like to thank all the directors for making blood in the shower
Or the scene where the hallways never end except when slaughtered
Or the one where you fill a room with water, to drown the main actor
Your minds are as great as any other brave author

And that's what leads to me,
I like to watch brains splatter on my colored TV
And the result is a mind where all I can see
Is people being burned and forever pleading, help me.

But don't think I'm a bad role,
I'd never kill a fly or any other good being,
But I do tend to think that I could steal away your soul,
By you reading my poems and thinking I'm crazy

I'm not crazy
