The Revolution came and passed by
because it saw that the slaves were satisfied
With the trinkets their masters gave them
To occupy themselves and make them think that they had Freedom
A powerful poem about treachery, ignorance, deceit, and the continued perpetuation of slavery. A highly insightful piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing such a food for thought. Keep it up.
