When the hurting is over
and a new start begins,
you tread so softly,
pray you will not make the mistake again.
Only the future knows,
if you will or you will not.
So forward you go,
one-step at a time,
hoping that the right heart you will find.
One that will care for you,
when things go bad.
One that will remain true,
through the temptations that might come.
One to guide you
to a better world this time.
