The Road Poem by Ludolf Dauphin

The Road

Rating: 5.0

I see the road so far away, so hard ahead.
I'm scared to take one step forward
wondering if I could make it if I try.
I feel like I'm losing my mind.

I used to have a plan, some goals.
Now it's all gone, nowhere to find.
Deep inside, everything seems uphill
I stand-alone piling on empty hope, among shattered dreams.

Yesterday, I sat and thought about life.
Questions poured into my head.
Can I hold on any longer, any harder?
Would I survive this journey?

The world is spinning so fast
Dreams and ambitions are dying
I feel my heart is weakening
Like I'm losing this fight.

There is this wall blocking my way, keeping the wind away
I know I may never pass the rainbow
Never touch the stars and be the moon
But I know I'll try the road to happiness.
