The Royals Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

The Royals

The Royals

With large sign on the wall:
"Help us to find our dog, "
Came to mind what had not.

Prize was good amount!

To dog-wolf relation
Never paid attention!

Now talk is all around
Their blood, background!

Scientists and shepherds:
"Quite sharp are the dogs,
But the wolves have pride! "

Fell my jaw by comment:
"Dogs live on leftovers,
They were scavengers,
Beggars, panhandlers! "

My wonder had a cause,
I have seen many dogs,
Mostly live like royals.

In my mind jingled bell:
"Best friends, defenders,
And hunters and shepherds,
Then why scavengers? "

Overheard me friend,
Came closer to help:
"Are clowns and too cheap,
They act like chimpanzee,
Obey and keep licking,
Face to hand, even feet,
Do not have dignity…"

He went on and went on:
"They enjoy free ride,
That is why are royals…"

I just looked, kept silent,
Turned him to lecturer:
"The dogs, sheikhs and Royals
Have a lot in common…"

Looked at him, surprised!

He found base to go on:
"Neither one works to make,
And all want to live best,
What they do is like leech,
Suck blood, be still…"

In limbo, I felt nailed,
Found him wrong and correct.

"Four-legged needs servants
As do the royals, sheikhs,
And not house but palace…"

He said and I questioned:
"Are you a prophet? "

And waited for answer,
No reply made me say:
"Prophets are rebels,
Each, every one of them! "

He seemed boiled with bubbles:
"The dogs, sheikhs and royals
Are the worst parasites,
Are lazy and worthless,
And worse is their demands…"

Smile turned to laughter:
"Count me as follower
If you are prophet…"

His final, last comment:
"We are worst creatures,
We, mankind, set labels,
The high and low grades! "
