The Rubber Room Poem by Joseph Caraveo

The Rubber Room

Shadows glimmer, bounce off walls
Voices echo, fallow down halls
Madness bound, ticking clock
Illusions swallowed, medicated walk
Chained to sleep, injected dreams
Lifeless nights, horrific things
Liquid eggs from Sam I am
Smoke three packs, then start again
Yesterday, probed and prodded
Today, drugged then nodding
I like this place, I am the mouse
Delusions, confusions, illusions gone mad
The little pink men they wear my skin
Jacket so tight, I can not breath
Call me mad, I see things
They speak to me, don't you hear
I cant go on the end is near
Within my skin, I cut them loose
Another long night, prepare the noose
