The Scam Poem by Alfred Ramos

The Scam

The Scam
You had your claws in me
About ready to skin me
But to my defense
I used common sense
Daddy always said if you’re not holding them
You better start folding them
So if it all comes down to life being a game
To trivialize ones despair, what a shame
So continue walking down that ill-trodden path
Leaving behind immense ill-gotten wrath
But in the end it will seem odd
On that judgment day when you face God
You’ll see that nothing in life is free
Except love, when you give it unconditionally
