The Second Time Around Poem by Alfred Ramos

The Second Time Around

Rating: 1.0

The Second Time Around
The first time you threw me out
Like the weekly trash
I didn’t think I would survive
This head on crash
I think I learned my lesson well
Don’t want to spend more time in hell
It will be better the second time around
I was lost but now I’m found
The first time we just couldn’t make it work
You were a snob, I was a jerk
We both had major attitudes
Traveled in different latitudes
It will be better the second time around
And laughing is a better sound
The first time we made a mess of everything
We threw mud and anything we could sling
Each argument ended in a tie
There are no winners when we both cry
It will be better the second time around
No one left to astound
It just you and me
Trying to make sense of insanity
And try we will
Because defeat is a bitter pill
It will be better the second time around
Together we will reach higher ground
