The Shallow Love You Give Poem by Adams King

The Shallow Love You Give

In your shallow love you made me fall
Is this the love I have been waiting for
Are you missing rib I seek?
Or is there another to come for me

Is this the best of you I can receive
Is this the most suitable love you can give
Is this the heaven your promised me
Or is there another preserved for me

I can hardly tell if the lights are above
For I can see no descending dove
Am I truly your beloved one my dear
For I can hardly tell if true love is here

Are you scared to give me your flowers
Scared I will rob you of your nectars
Are you scared to take me deep
Thinking the devil has come to steal

Show me love the love I deserve
And keep no sweet feelings preserved
Take me deeper where true love lies
For I'm tired of the shallow love you give

I can't seek paradise in another home
For I so much believe you are my own
But I wonder where the feelings are
I wonder why you seem to be so far

Or is there truly no love in a woman's heart
Like the ancient stories told in Gath
Have you come to play the tricks of Delilah
Or to practice your most skillful lies

If truly your feelings are like oceans
All I ask for is a cup of emotion
Little drops can't quench this taste of mine
Take me where your love best shines

Take me to the deepest depth of heart
For true love is not a game of dart
I'm losing it all I'm losing my stand
Don't keep me long on this shallow ground
