The Soul Poem by Jackie Kirby

The Soul

If someones crying do
you care
A child fall needs a hand
do you
Give him yours
Family in need of food
do you offer yours
Cold of a winters night
young woman is freezing
as she waits for the bus.
no coat
Would you give her yours
3 in the morning friend calls
feeling sad an alone
needing to talk
Would you go to your friend
in need.
A store clerk is beaning robbed
an beating as you watch
Do you help are hide
Child is been kidnapped as your
walking by do you help
Coming across a car wreck are
you one that would help
Are the one that sits an watches
to see how many have die
Those who have wronged you can
you forgive
I think as i have wrote this the soul
is full of compassion,
An if i could walk away not caring
about any of these
Then where is my compassion,
for with out it i have no soul
