The Spirit I Hide Poem by Melanie Walendowsky Baker

The Spirit I Hide

The spirit I hide
From you and from me
Is hopeless, I know
But you just can’t see.

I’m afraid I am broken
Not easily fixed.
I’m afraid I don’t have
All the right tricks.

The spirit I have
That I know is strong
Wants to come home now
- It wants to belong.
