The Super Rat Poem by Marilyn Shepperson

The Super Rat

I can be black, brown or grey
It really doesn't matter
I can be as large as a squirrel
Or as small as a mouse
I'll live in the gutter or the drains
Or in an outhouse, it's all the same
Whether your house is old or even new
I'll get inside, if I can
I'll ransack your larder and any bin
While leaving a trail of droppings
And urine to prove it
I can still spread diseases
So you'd better watch out
If you think you can get rid of me
Be warned that I'm immune to all poisons
I'm not just making a come back
This is the start of a take over bid.
