The Sweat Of The Brow



Work, travail, chore, grind and drudge
Man. your haggard mechanics nudge!

To be busy to wear-and-tear
Seems a very distressing affair!

Man, you wish you would dally, have manna,
Loaf idly like a eunuch in a zenana.

It's, of course, would be welcome and nice
In your sluggish, futile paradise!

But to be a true man yoy must know
How to earn bread by the sweat of the brow!

Be bread-winner, your courage, man, muster! ...

Alas, only for me, -
I am a tampering rhymester...
