Gather the flavours
of my words
and yours
from all our days
and touch- bind them,
intermingled as they were born,
into rainbow pages,
in high-skyed flight,
and savour them
in closed-eye ecstasy
as vintage wine,
holding the aftertaste
of them and us
in sacred reverence
to smile your heart
breeze-gentle
in meetings drear
and on sighways wild and free
these, our remembrance paintings
our whisper masterpieces of now
our promises of future canvasses
we have yet to flood
with colours the sky has not yet birthed.
