The Tempter’s Demise (2)

Who look to God and Christ His Son
Who’s foot in truth walks sure
Who seek in life God’s will be done
Will Satan’s ploys endure

The Living Christ was tempted too
Yet scripture stood Him by
Today He leads the chosen few
Who live to reign on high

We’ll live beyond temptations cries
Above the devils’ screams
We’ll live when all about him dies
Beyond our wildest dreams

Savouring life as Jesus planned
Basking within His light
Walking in love The Promised Land
Beyond the realm of night

But first temptation needs to die
The flesh must now resist
Looking to Jesus Christ on high
Who’s powers in us persist

The strength of God is ours to call
When Christ is Lord and King
When at His feet we humbly fall
And to His glory sing

Temptation loses fast its hold
Its snares of steel corrode
When on our heads a crown of gold
Is from our Lord bestowed

Such strength is in God’s mighty word
Such clout’s unleashed through prayer
Such freedom when Salvation’s heard
Yet this through Christ we share…P.T.O….
