I love the mysteries in life
Like how I understand the wife
And all her little expertise
And how she brings me to my knees
Her words can cut like a knife through bone
And leave me feeling so alone
Lost in a heap of spoken hurt
Sometimes harmless, sometimes curt
I love the way I fail the test
Even though I try my best
The pedestal she put me on
Has past its best since we were young
And now I sit with a dunces cap
And get the very occasional slap
The mystery is I love the life
With my understanding wife
