The Village Boy I Love Poem by Maureen Alikor

The Village Boy I Love

Is it the warmth of his hands,
or the tender steps he takes?

Is it the way he says my name,
or the certain way he holds my hand?

Is it the loving way he stares into my dreamy eyes,
or the uniqueness of his words.

Is it the difference in his physique,
or his portable carriage?

Is it the way he loves the songs I love,
or the way he sings them with me?

Is it the way my eyes twitch, when his name is mentioned,
or the way I skip a beat when he touches my hair?

Is it the way he makes me stare at nature,
and wonder how he was made?

Is it the way I bless Jah for a being as unique as he,
or the way I long to always with him be?

Is it the way I can't find a reason not to care,
or the reason to let go?

Is it the many questions I have,
or the various answers he gives?

Is it all about it,
or is there something else?
