The Way To The Sea Coast Poem by Navarun Mallick

The Way To The Sea Coast

A sea of green lies ahead, the thickets swaying in the wind,
Mocking me, daring me to step in their maze.
The foolhardy me doesn't hesitate to show how worthiness
And takes a strong, determined step, and continues to walk on.
But that was a long time ago; things have changed,
The sky is not clear as it was back then,
Clouds, white, black and grey, obscure the convenient sun.
The green, leafy plants have changed-now they are brown,
And they rustle, and are blown away by the wind,
Withered and wrinkled, just like my emotions sometimes are.
I haven't stopped walking yet, but no end is in sight,
And now, I've even lost the bearings of the starting point.
I have not taken a wrong turn-actually, I haven't turned,
But I simply kept walking where my feet led me.
I too have changed-I am older, tired,
But I'm not done yet, for there is still some way to go.
And until I reach the sea of blue,
I must keep walking.
