The World For What It Is Poem by Jake Andrews

The World For What It Is

Through time I have seen what has happened to me
We have become docile
We sat in a comfortable chair and will not get up
We wear conformity
We eat destruction
We drink our own demise
We the people have been monopolized
We are just another commodity
We are like a horse with blinders on its eyes we see what our master wants us to
We the people have been silenced
We the people are no longer the people
We are the puppet in a play the lyric in a song
We no longer rise
We are tired
I have seen the serpent lurking beneath the flower
I know the truth behind the lie
I am a lone horse with no pack to run with
I search for a home
I fight my comfort
I confront my weaknesses
I humble my strengths
I find that the last free enterprise is coming slowly to an end
I cannot move
I cannot breath
I cannot fight
I am comfort I am conformity I am monopolized I am the people
Through time I see what happens to us.
