The World - J'accuse Poem by Paul Warren

The World - J'accuse

Rating: 4.0

A woman is beaten by her partner
J'Accuse
A child does not thrive and goes to bed hungry
J'Accuse
The same defenceless child is beaten
J'Accuse
A person is jailed who is innocent of a crime
J'Accuse
A Terrorist kills innocent people in the street
J'Accuse
Genocide occurs and death has no lawful reason
J'Accuse
Making money becomes the most important thing
J'Accuse
Unspeakable things are done in the name of God
J'Accuse

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
At the end of the Great War the French made a movie J'Accuse where the war dead came back and accused the living of throwing away the Peace they had won by their sacrifice. Are we in this position now?
