Then All Changed Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Then All Changed

Then all changed

I recall that moment
It was in the winter
Through gate I entered.

Ran to me those faces:
"You know Sir? "

They knew their teacher
I listened with patience
They had seen burning hell
Shouted a general; fired gun.

Twenty arrested!

"Did you call? " I asked them
They had not, not allowed.

"Break door to get out of this hell, "
I shouted, impatient, commanded
The soldier on the roof overheard
Aimed his gun, shot some Guard.

Then things changed.

One guard killed, rest escaped
Trucks burned…

Only if I knew what comes next
Only if they knew of the rest
Only if general had not shot
Only if the pistol was not seen
Only if…

But now I, keep writing…
