last night i had
beer with some nephews and
neices

some nieces who are already
in their thirties are worried
about having no partners yet
wanting to get one for
marriage

and i told them, don't play games
be serious and honest in asking someone
you like, if he likes you too
and if the feeling is mutual then why
not explore the possibility of
loving one forever,

and that if there is no such feeling
then you do not have to wait till kingdom
come waiting for love where there can
be none, looking for hope in the most
hopeless situations,

look for love, and find it, and if you find
it, grab it.
it is not a question of luck
but a question of being candid and honest
and real.

and they all giggled despite their old
age. The nephews are silent
and drank some more beer, and one said,
i found one, someone worth loving,
but i do not have any plan
to marry her.

marriage seems to be, another stranger in
the party of love.
and he quips, after a gulp of beer,
smooth to his throat,
there is no forever anymore.
