There must be more to life than this
Like most, I’d thought before
This world has much and yet I miss
What no one has in store
I knew not what I had to find
Nor where I’d need to seek
At times, it seemed my eyes were blind
My flesh, so frail and weak
For truth I searched both far and wide
But still I found no peace
The days of pain, the nights I cried
When would the torment cease?
As nought, I’d count possessions found
Just worthless things that fade
I’d walked on so called holy ground
But found it all man made
I crossed the deep, climbed mountains high
I flew above the cloud
Till one day lost, began to cry
To God, my head I bowed
At once, these eyes, the truth could see
A sight that raised my soul
I saw God’s Lamb upon the tree
And knew I’d found my goal
My search till then, had brought but loss
But when I looked inside
My soul joined Jesus on the cross
In truth once more I cried
I heard His voice, whilst crying there
“I’ve seen and known your quest
For me, you’ve searched most everywhere
Now come my child and rest”…
