There Never Is

I saw you limp in tatters down
A snow bright road
The pumpkin shell scattered
The moon a heavy load
plunged from the skies
Dancing days are done
A voice cawed all stentorian from the swallowed sun
There was no dawn
Only the Once Upon
Rose fleetingly
Ah rainbow crowning the
Chrism in the dark
And something whispered
There's glory in the arc
Of the wounded dove;
There never is an end to Love.
