There's More To Me Poem by Kelvin Rush

There's More To Me

There's more to me than a pretty face
I'm bound and gagged in a scary place
There's more to me than a little white lie
There's more to me than meets the eye

There's more to me than a sickly joke
I'm lost and weak unable to cope
There's more to me than a blood stained tie
There's more to me than meets the eye

There's more to me than a listening ear
I'm cold heartbroken stay well clear
There's more to me than the Fourth of July
There's more to me than meets the eye

There's more to me than a loving son
I'm battered and bruised I live by the gun
There's more to me than a moonlit sky
There's more to me than meets the eye

There's more to me than a dapper white suit
Inside I'm drowning destitute
There's more to me than homemade pie
There's more to me than meets the eye

There's more to me than a nervous grin
I'm caught in a trap riddled with sin
There's more to me than a desperate cry
There's more to me than meets the eye

There's more to me than any word spoken
I'm starved of love internally broken
There's more to me than I care to deny
There's more to me than meets the eye

Should we ever meet my friend
Remember this poem and don't condescend
There's more to me than live and die
There's more to me than meets the eye
