There Would Never Have Been A Me Poem by Judea Mae Espanola

There Would Never Have Been A Me

This loud, loud, loud silence invokes melancholy
Caused by a madness dwelling deep, deep in me
Oh dear, how I long for the good old days
When they were filled with beauty, they were filled with grace.

Yes, I am old, but I am quite wise,
Stronger than the child that I’ve have left behind.
Yes, I am old, but I am now a great deal,
Wiser, for I don’t act just by how I feel.

But joy is bittersweet, for in all I went through,
I have lost some things, and lost loved ones too.
Yet in the end I see, this sadness that wells within me,
Will vanish as the air moves past lovingly.

For though I am sad, you see, I am happy.
My life may not be as it was in a movie;
But I thank God for all His blessings, you see,
For without Him, there never would have been a me.
