These People Great People Poem by Francis Duggan

These People Great People

Rating: 5.0

We all have our flaws and addictions and fears
That we have to contend with over the years
I doubt in the World a perfect person you'd find
Since perfection it is not of the human kind
For success with each other people do compete
To be best in the neighbourhood and best on the street
To be best in the parish and best in the town
And the ultimate dream is of Worldwide renown
Yet some people known for their great love of humanity
For helping people who know of extreme poverty
These people great people and it does appear
That to the summit of perfection they are far more near
Than those who think of self only and promote their own name
As they compete with others for great wealth and fame.
