These Two Eyes Poem by Jeffrey McCambridge

These Two Eyes

These eyes, these two eyes,
Deep and dark like a well.
Water; the spark of life
Darker than the darkest night

An astrological experience
Constellations as yet undiscovered
Untamed by man, animal or fish;
Unseen by worlds, unheard by song.

Origin of love and loss
Aphrodite and omega forming
Two loaded pistols, taking careful aim
With sights deep as wells.

These eyes, these two eyes
Elixir of the fates
Downfall of mighty Adonis
Un-fadable, faded.

Brown, deep brown,
The color of love,
The hue of life,
An alliance of souls.
