They Tell Me It's Dangerous Poem by Tsunami HiroshiSu

They Tell Me It's Dangerous

My favorite thing is dangerous
Or that's what they tell me
But I'm not dead yet
Yet.

Howl into the night
Ride the highways with your music turned loud
Dance faster than anyone else dares
That's my favorite thing

But they tell me it's dark outside
And there are creatures that creep in the night

They tell me highways can kill you
And music is dangerous. Dangerous ideas, too loud for our poor ear drums

They hold me back
What if I get hurt?

Tell me not to fly and I will soar higher
Tell me not to light the fire and it will burn the brighter
Tell me I am reckless and I will smile
Tell me what is unlucky and I will dance on the sidewalk cracks
Tell me to use my inside voice and I will sing my songs to the world
Tell me I can't do it and I will laugh
Tell me it's impossible and I will prove you wrong

My favorite thing is dangerous
