i know you think you know me,
tho i've only shown you
what my soul
allows me to reveal.
you see,
i dwell within
a chrysalis of stone,
cocoon of steel.

and tho i've long out-grown them
still each layer forms
a part of me,
and part of me conceals.
you know,
a butterfly,
her beauty hides
until her freedom feels.
