Thinking To Myself Poem by John Krysinski

Thinking To Myself

a old couple walks down the street in front of me
a smile is on each of their faces as they hold hands and walk slowly
I watched until they disappear into the distance
thinking to myself must be wonderful not to be lonely
my mind races of all the things that have happened to me
all the happiness I had until all the lies and deceit
will I ever find someone that will make my life complete
or will I be distant to be alone starring down at my feet
waking up each day only to a tear stained pillow by my side
and eating dinners alone while I watch happy couples walk by
