This Girl Poem by Monica Paris

This Girl

There is a girl you know so well,

She begs you with her eyes.

But you do not see;

inside she cries.

This girl needs to break free

She wants to be found

but she clings to me.

She sits in her own desperation

in the darkness of the night

Knowing her life just isn't right.

No one understands the pain she holds inside

then again no one has tried.

That is why her soul is going to die.

This girl whom you know

fights so hard for every smile.

And in the darkness she lets her tears stream down

She knows this is how things are supposed to be.

But whether you know it or not

this girl you see

is closer than you think.

Because this girl is part of you...

But more than that

She’s a part of me
