Thoughts At Night Poem by Garett Ryan

Thoughts At Night

In the still of the night
When the world is at rest
I sit and I write
With my thoughts and my pen
The moon is my witness
The stars are my guide
I pour out my soul
On the pages before me
My words, they flow
Like a river of thought
Drifting, cascading
Over the rocky shores of doubt
I write of love and longing
Of pain and of fear
I write of the world
And the people who live here
I write to escape
To find my own way
To shed light on the darkness
That threatens to stay
So I'll keep on writing
Through the night and the day
For in my words, I find my truth
And that's where I'll stay.
