Thoughts Into The Ocean Poem by Devin Iven

Thoughts Into The Ocean

Drifting into open water.
Into that lazy sea.
All the shame and guilt,
comes flowing out of me.

I watch them go,
I wave goodbye.
New breath inhaled,
a brand new sigh.

Freedom from my fears
at least for this one instant.
I dream of life to come.
If nothing, it’s consistent.

I hope the darkness stays away.
So I can soak in this feeling.
Yet I know in the days to come,
I’ll just be starring at the ceiling.
