Thoughts Of A Love's Rapid Refrain Poem by Chester Maynes

Thoughts Of A Love's Rapid Refrain

Oh, the bridge stretches above the sea
So long, so high, where the wind sweeps my mind
Maroon skies cast their little stars
What a night to behold with my lover’s hands
I whistle a love’s refrain, pure and simple
Beside this beautiful and agile banter
Even fireflies tease our delicate silhouette
Love, Oh love is another chronicle
Where our names are written in providence
Our doting is supreme; we leave a space of more
To pervade our emptiness with each other
The night is watching us for another tomorrow
