Three Limericks In The Style Of Lear Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Three Limericks In The Style Of Lear

Came a drunk in a lopsided flivver
I pity the poor man's liver
Not enough to be drunk
This man took a dunk
As he veered straight into the river.

Said a man just returned from the moon
I fear I have come back too soon
For I left about seven
On my journey to heaven
And here it is only noon.

A weird old woman loved cats
And outlandish broad-rimmed hats
Why should we think it odd
The old dame is quite mod
Why she even dines with her bats.

Each one of these limericks is quite fun and entertaining, but I like the second one best.

Cats and bats! ! ! Mats and hats of life! With the humour along the line. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
