Three Quarter Moon Poem by Cathleen Hodgkinson

Three Quarter Moon

Rating: 5.0

In memory of my dear friend Phillip J. Screen

Tell me why, after all this time,
I look for the moon at night,
in its three quarter lunar phase,
surrounded by a misty halo.
And I think of you.
And I miss you.
Every month of every year.
The three quarter moon was radiant,
on that unexpected cold July night.
The night before God took you to his side,
with your strong will and reluctance to go.
The three quarter moon, with its misty halo,
I stare at it to connect with you and feel you,
and be comforted with thoughts that you are free.
Every month of every year,
it seems to follow me.
And it is a sullen reminder,
that you should still be here.

three quarter moon...symbolic to the radiant love relation that beautifully waxed up once but prematurely ended...sad to read… but as a poem this piece is very much impressive…10/10

Cathleen, This so sad to read, yet love and the surrounding beauty of this great piece lifts the mist and allows the reader to feel your strength....beautifully composed *10* best dishes Jon
